Knobs

Knobs is a short film shot between the fall of 2020 and the fall of 2022. The film explores the nature of manifesting a creative life as it relates to intuition, mysticism, and meditation and how those forces commingle and sometimes provide tension with the more rational side of human life.

Throughout my life, both with regard to formal educational and familial reinforcement, I (as a young person), leaned heavily on the more rational side of behavior. Rationality initially appeared to provide a more stable and predictable portal to a safe and controlled life, but soon felt hollow.

Control was highly valued in my family - and in my body - until it softened. This exploration and softening coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent restructuring of my inner world.
